Medieval Mayhem miniatures- Squires!

Right, so following on from the knights last week, this week we have their trusty squires!

These miniatures come from Studio Miniatures, and they are really cleverly detailed, the baggage loads they carry have lots of little quirky things, which really add to the character of the models. I have again tried to stay true (ish) to the original characters, but have taken a fair bit of artistic license- especially with the baggage loads!

Anyway on to the pictures...

King Arthur's Squire

Sir Bedevere's Squire

Sir Lancelot's Squire

Sir Galahad's Squire

Sir Bors' Squire

Sir Robin's Squire

And the whole group together

Next up? More miniatures, and some terrain!

Survivor Friday- The good Reverend

And we are back, and with a new survivor no less!

Those of you who have picked up your copy of Skirmish Outbreak (available here, and at a discounted price!) will have already seen the good Reverend, as he graces the back cover of the book!

He has been made from the Wargames Factory sprue, with a hand donated by a Studio Miniatures zombie and a little bit of green stuff to give him his collar and to help pose his arms. Add a pretty simple paintjob (entirely wearing black will do that!), and he is complete!

All in all, I am really happy with how he has come out, the fearful pose has worked perfectly. After all, we can't all be kung fu priests....

More Medieval Mayhem miniatures over the weekend!

Medieval Mayhem miniatures- Knights!

It is a hive of activity here as we prepare Medieval Mayhem for launch in December.

One of the main activities is me putting some paint on the Medieval Mayhem miniatures! Luckily for me Studio sent me some of the figures early so I got a headstart into painting, so I will be posting up my painted versions of the miniatures in the build up to the release of the book. If you want to get your hands on a set of the miniatures, once they are ready they will be available from the Studio Miniatures website.

King Arthur

Sir Bedevere

Sir Galahad

Sir Bors

Sir Lancelot

Sir Robin

I am particularly happy with the freehand on the shields and coats of arms, they have come out really well I think!

Next up, the squires!

Survivor Friday- Michelle

And, back again for Survivor Friday!

This week's survivor comes with an amendment to an earlier Survivor. When I posted Vera in August, I mistakenly said that the only weapon option for that figure was an RPG. Thankfully an anonymous poster correctly called me up on my error, pointing out that there is an AK47 on the additional weapon sprue for her too!

So, here you have it, the other weapon option for the survivor:

Thanks to the anonymous poster for picking up my error, I am more than happy to admit when I am wrong! These Wargames Factory sprues just keep getting better!

More on Medieval Mayhem over the weekend, have you picked up your discounted copy of Skirmish Outbreak yet?

Announcing.... Medieval Mayhem!

“ONCE UPON A TIME THERE WAS A KINGDOM RULED BY A WISE AND POWERFUL KING... well actually it was run by a large uncaring corporation, filled with children celebrating birthdays, adults just trying not to go crazy and staffed by slackers, stoners and students!

Medieval Mayhem funfair and theme park to give it is full name was regarded by its’ employees as one of the worst place in the world to work, if they weren’t picking up horse doody or nursing bruises from the rebated weapons, they were selling soft drinks and bad food to the willing audience BUT that was before the Zombie Apocalypse!!!”

Studio Miniatures and Radio Dishdash Publishing have teamed up to bring the Medieval Mayhem funfair and theme park to your gaming table.

Medieval Mayhem is the first supplement to Skirmish Outbreak, and adds a different dimension to the core rules. Inside the book you will find brave knights, humble peasants, damsels in distress and of course, hordes of the relentless undead! So while the knights might be fake, at least their weapons are sharp-ish, and their armour offers some form of protection!

The PDF of Medieval Mayhem will be given FREE to all of those who pledged at the Squire level or above in the Kickstarter (take a look here!), and will be available to everyone before Christmas, in both PDF and softback book formats.

You will of course need a copy of Skirmish Outbreak to play. If you head to skirmishoutbreak.com to pick up your copy in December, you will receive a $10 discount on the purchase price of the printed rules, now just 25 USD!

Further details on the contents of Medieval Mayhem soon….

Survivor Friday- Machete

And, we are back. Another week, another survivor!

This week's survivor needs no introduction, only a link to a movie trailer on youtube....

Machete is another from the Studio Miniatures kickstarter- in fact, he is my last figure from what I backed!

Whatever will I do with myself now? I guess I will just have to see....

Perhaps starting with this box that arrived this week?

Survivor Friday- Travis

So, after Zombtober, it is nice to get back in to the usual swing of things with a Friday Survivor!

This week's survivor is another from Studio Miniatures, and one that I picked up through their Walking Dead kickstarter.

"... For some people, the Zombie apocalypse was a release. Their 9-5 jobs? Gone. Their mortgage? Gone. That credit card debt? Gone.

I mean, sure, you lost all of your friends and family, had to commit unspeakable acts and there was potential death, dismemberment and the very real chance that you would be eaten alive, but there were just some people who just enjoyed the whole thing..."

The miniature is very clearly based off Travis Bickle, from Taxi Driver. It is a cool figure- but once I saw his big smile I just couldn't get the idea of clown make up out of my head!

Anyway, another survivor done :)

Conquest 2015- Recap!

So over the weekend, Colin and I headed down to Christchurch for Conquest, a convention I have been attending for many, many years now (it was my first gaming convention in fact many moons ago!)

We borrowed some terrain off a mate of mine down there, Jason, and used my zombies for the games. You can see more of Jason's handiwork on his blog, Krugers Kreations. He designed the terrain for a Fallout game of his own devising, and it makes for a simply awesome Zombie apocalypse table! It is constructed from the Plasticville O scale model railway terrain. The buildings are just a shell, which Jason's excellent conversion skills have turned in to some simply awesome buildings.

We had an excellent weekend of gaming, the survivors fought bravely and survived (sometimes) and the zombie hordes were suitably relentless. Thanks to Tim for making the space for us and to all of those who took the time to talk and play games with us over the weekend.

The whole table

The Priest in a somewhat sticky situation. The yellow token denotes that he has been bitten, and will shortly turn....

Zomb-Carl wandering the streets. Not in the house, surprisingly enough.

Zomb-Bill Murray saying hello to a faceless office worker

The soldier really should move his aim up a bit....

Enclosed spaces and multiple zombies. The priest didn't make it out alive in this game....

The soldier off looting, check out the awesome interior details Jason has put into it!

More than a few cool things on the boil at the moment, but more on those through the week, oh and back to our regularly scheduled survivor on Friday!
